Clay & Lithium

signals_pic

Currently under production, this film explores the relationship between mental health and creativity. We experience the unique case of an anonymous artist from Brighton who spends years on projects making thousands of hand-crafted ceramic pebbles, eggs, bottles, and other objects – only to release them into rivers, beaches and urban environments without any publicity or apparent purpose. We learn, however, that there is great meaning in this ‘madness’ which turns out to constitute a noble gesture for strangers, a subtle critique of the modern art ‘market’ today, and a mode of survival from the crippling illness of bipolar.

A Damn Nice Caff (2007)
This is an early example that is short but, perhaps, a little bitter-sweet (Duration: 3m:20s).
